Urgent Care Booming in New Hampshire

Foster’s Daily Democrat reports that urgent care is booming in the Granite State. According to state records, there are 44 licensed urgent care centers in New Hampshire, with close to a third opening within the past 15 months. A spokesperson from the state’s Department of Insurance was quoted as saying that at least 12 more urgent care centers are being planned. An expert from the New Hampshire Institute for Health Policy and Practice attributed the growth to two factors: a dearth of primary care doctors and an increase in the number of insured because of the Affordable Care Act.

  1. Think of Urgent Care as your regular doctor when your doctor’s office is closed or unavailable Urgent Care is the place you would go. Urgent Care can usually handle more serious issues than the regular doctor but if the matter is more critical.
